Silver calcium alginate dressing
Calcium alginate dressing causes the transfer of ions and creation of a hydrogel structure, which greatly helps in reducing the pressure of the wound. This type of dressing facilitates the healing process by helping the formation of granulation tissue in the wound.
Calcium alginate dressing takes advantage of significant absorption capacity similar to simple calcium alginate dressing. Silver ions in dressings have a considerable antibacterial effect on the wounds. This dressing with silver ions has a substantial antibacterial impact on wounds, especially those prone to infection. The flexibility of the dressing makes it suitable for a wide range of wounds. The release of silver ions in the structure maintains the antibiotic conditions for up to 7 days. By keeping the environment moist, calcium alginate dressing creates conditions that increase the activity of debridement enzymes (cavity and thick wounds). This dressing can manage healing of the wounds containing medium to high exudates, and also can prevent infection of the wounds.
