This wound dressing is applicable for all types of pressure ulcers, infected wounds, and venous wounds. They typically require a secondary coating and can be left on the wound for several days.<\/p><p>Calcium alginates are coverings, which are made up of monouronic and alginic acid. Owing to the presence of calcium and sodium ions, they can ionize and form a gel.
